Obituary
Joyce Josephine Abate, born on August 16, 1932, in Trenton, Michigan, passed away on September 27, 2026, in Riverview, Michigan, at the age of 94.
Joyce led a life rich in love and dedication to her family and community. She began her professional journey as a devoted Realtor, helping countless families find their homes. Her career was marked by integrity and commitment, qualities that she carried into all aspects of her life.
In her retirement, Joyce embraced life with enthusiasm and joy. She resided in the Villages of Florida, where she discovered a passion for the performing arts and participated in numerous plays for over 16 years. Her vibrant spirit and love for the stage brought joy to audiences and fellow performers alike.
Family was at the heart of Joyce's life. She cherished time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, always providing them with love, guidance, and an attentive ear. Her legacy of warmth and kindness will live on through them.
Joyce was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Angelo, and her parents, Adelina and Paul. She is survived by her children, Kimberly (Steven) Siegler and Gary (Kiremy) Abate; her grandchildren, Meredith (David) Kraft and Elizabeth (Michael) Keck; and her great-grandchildren, Poppy Kraft, Preston Kraft, and Freya Keck. She also leaves behind her dear sisters, Inez Gotts and Marian Haining, along with numerous friends who were like family to her.
Private family services will be held in her honor. Her cremation will take place at "The Witness Crematory," located inside Michigan Memorial Funeral Home, with inurnment to follow in Michigan Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joyce's name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Joyce's life was a testament to love, family, and the joy of living fully. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
